Your Opportunity
Stantec's New York City office has an immediate need for a talented, Bridge Inspector Team Leader with 7 years of structural engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge inspection. The position requires a New York State PE license and will work out of our 5th Avenue office. This position is for an individual with solid experience looking to challenge themselves on a professional level on a variety of bridge assessment and evaluation projects, and leading project teams. You will have the opportunity to learn, work on exciting and multi-faceted projects, and grow your career. Our team has a passion for the work that they do, and we're looking for candidates with a similar passion. The successful candidates will join a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to the inspection component of bridge projects throughout New York Metro Area.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • The work will include field inspection of various size bridges including but not limited to suspension, major bridge viaducts and crossings in the New York City (NYC) Metro.
  • You will be responsible for meeting the demands of high-profile clients, including NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY & NJ, MTA Bridge and Tunnel Authority TBTA, and NYCDOT.
  • Responsibilities also include bridge condition evaluation, documentation, field coordination, and directing the inspection team.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Completed 2-week NHI Course No. 130055, or the 5-day NHI Course No. 130056 and NHI Course No. 130078.
  • Preferred: SPRAT-Certified Level I Technician or willingness to attend training for certification.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30 and Aerial Lift Certified
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Available for flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office.
  • Local NYC metro area experience and experience with NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY&NJ, MTA Bridge and Tunnel Authority TBTA, and NYCDOT are preferred.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York. A minimum of 7 years of structural engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge inspection.

Pay Range:
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 134,900.00 - Max Salary $ 202,500.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
