Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Field Engineer with prior experience working on TBTA projects. The ideal candidate will support the engineering and construction teams by providing on-site technical expertise, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and coordinating field activities to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements for bridge and tunnel infrastructure projects managed by the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support and engineering expertise on-site for TBTA construction and maintenance projects, including bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure project compliance. Monitor construction activities, perform quality control inspections, and ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project progress.

Conduct field measurements, surveys, and tests to verify construction accuracy and report any discrepancies. Assist in resolving engineering and construction issues in real-time, providing practical solutions aligned with project goals. Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, progress logs, inspection records, and communication logs.

Support scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Participate in safety meetings and enforce TBTA safety protocols on-site. Liaise with TBTA (MTA) officials and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

Proven experience working on TBTA or similar large-scale transportation infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in bridge and tunnel projects. Familiarity with TBTA safety standards, inspection protocols, and reporting requirements.

Proficiency with engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, MS Office, project management software). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple project sites within NYC. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred. Additional Desirable Skills: Experience with MTA/NYC Transit projects.
