Job description

Our company is seeking a skilled TBM (Technology Business Management) Contractor to join our team on a contract basis to assist our TBM team with the creation of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the evaluation of TBM Tools. The contractor will be responsible for contributing to the design and development of the RFP, ensuring it effectively captures our technical and business requirements for software or platforms used in Technology Business Management. This role requires a strong understanding of IT financial management, value management, and the ability to translate those needs into clear and concise RFP documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of the RFP for the evaluation of TBM Tools, leveraging their knowledge of technology business management principles and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the TBM team to identify and document specific functional and technical requirements for TBM Tools to be included in the RFP. This may involve analyzing existing IT financial processes, reporting needs, and identifying areas for improvement in technology value management.
  • Contribute to the development of clear and objective evaluation criteria for assessing vendor proposals for TBM Tools, potentially drawing on experience with data-driven analysis and understanding business requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed specifications and requirements related to TBM Tools, ensuring they are well-defined and measurable in the context of financial modeling and reporting.
  • Support the TBM team in gathering and organizing information necessary for the RFP, such as project scope, timelines, and budget considerations related to technology investments.
  • Contribute to the review and refinement of draft RFP sections, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness in communicating our needs to potential vendors.
  • Assist in the development of questions and templates to be used for vendor responses related to TBM Tools, potentially focusing on their ability to provide insightful data-driven analysis.
  • Maintain documentation related to the RFP development process as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), with a strong understanding of IT financial management principles, methodologies (e.g., the TBM Taxonomy), and tools used for managing and communicating the cost, value, and performance of IT.
  • Experience in developing or contributing to technical documentation, such as specifications or requirements documents, potentially similar to developing documentation for financial models, dashboards, and related processes.
  • Familiarity with the RFP process and best practices for developing effective RFPs for software or technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and document complex technical and functional requirements related to IT financial data and reporting, similar to performing data analysis and manipulating large datasets to identify trends and key insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with a technical and business-focused team and contribute to written documentation, potentially including the ability to present complex analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks to meet project timelines.
  • A strong understanding of Excel is required.
  • Ability to work in the office one to two days per week.
  • An understanding of NCDIT ways of working would be a plus.
