Job description

The Open Coverage Sales Executivein our Tax & Accounting Professionals Large client segment is responsible for retaining and growing their account base and acquiring new accounts across any territories that are in need of additional coverage. This is a virtual role, requiring excellent telephone and writing skills.
About the Role

A successful Sales Executive:

  • Draws on their high level of initiative and ability to apply strong business acumen to conduct a thorough needs analysis within their accounts.

  • Has the ability to develop trust, demonstrate their credibility with all account stakeholders through their knowledge of Thomson Reuters' products, and services and acquired knowledge of the tax and accounting industry.

  • Tailors their client presentations to the unique needs of the individual account and articulates their proposals through ROI justification to shorten the sales cycle.


As a Sales Executive, you will:

  • Attain sales quotas on a monthly basis

  • Demonstrate the use of Tax & Accounting products to the customer

  • Sell tax/accounting/audit solutions including UT, GST, OneSource, Audit, Checkpoint, AI solutions, Co-Counsel and more.

  • Obtain and provide territory information regarding market intelligence and penetration

  • Confer with and assist in customer-related issues as needed to maintain good customer relations

  • Complete weekly sales performance reports and completes all CRM reporting in a timely and accurate manner

  • Drives strategic initiatives supported by assigned account team consisting of Sales Development Representative, Client Executive and Solutions Consultants to drive growth in assigned territory

  • Leverage sales automation tools and data insights to engage prospects and expedite sales cycles (such as utilizing Flash/EMS/Salesforce)

  • Attend sales meetings and conventions as required

  • Assist with coverage across territories as the business sees fit, for a variety of reasons: territory sales rep on leave, territory in need of additional coverage, etc.

  • Manage open territories in the event we have them


About You

  • MUST HAVE industry knowledge of tax software

  • Minimum 3 years of successful sales experience with proven/consistent track record of quota attainment

  • Software as a Service Sales (SAAS) experience, preferably selling tax software/content solutions

  • Working knowledge of sales concepts, methods and techniques

  • Excellent communication skills & presentation skills to maximize phone and virtual client meetings/presentations

  • Strong prospecting and closing skills

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • Ambitious self-starter with high energy and motivation

  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, utilizing a CRM (such as Salesforce preferred) and overall technical aptitude

  • Continuous learner, flexible and open-minded, positive attitude

  • High level of integrity and understanding of sales ethics
