Robinhood is looking for a skilled Tax Operations professional to join our team! We are seeking motivated professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and can manage multiple priorities. In this role, you will lead tax reporting processes for taxable and retirement accounts, executing critical exception reports covering areas such as withholding, cost basis, and crypto transactions. You will also partner with Customer Experience and Account Operations teams to resolve complex tax-related inquiries and withholding issues.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. What you'll do
  • Collaborate with product, project, and engineering teams to launch, improve, and scale Robinhood products and systems, tracking various tax-related initiatives and new product promotions
  • Lead the tax reporting processes for taxable and retirement accounts, executing critical exception reports covering areas such as withholding, cost basis, and crypto transactions
  • Partner with Customer Experience and Account Operations teams to resolve complex tax inquiries, cost basis issues, and withholding discrepancies
  • Develop and implement reconciliations of data between internal systems and vendors, verifying the accuracy of tax information transmitted to the IRS
What you bring
  • Bring a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with 5+ years of professional experience in tax operations
  • Demonstrate experience with retirement tax reporting, specifically with IRS Forms 1099-R and 5498
  • Showcase strong analytical and communication skills, with proficiency in tools like SQL or Databricks to manage, mine, and convert large datasets
  • Manage and drive tax projects to completion in a deadline-driven environment, maintaining high attention to detail
  • Apply prior experience in Financial Services, Fintech, or Crypto, with an understanding of tax onboarding procedures and Forms W-9/W-8BEN preferred
