What's the role?

Senior Tax Managers are a key part of the firm, responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring final annual tax products and monthly financial work are produced and delivered to clients within expected timelines. This includes:

  • Lead and manage the firm's tax department, including workflow management, staffing, scheduling, and operational oversight.
  • Manage a portfolio of tax clients and serve as the primary advisor on complex tax matters.
  • Review and approve complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Building new and strengthening existing client relationships while demonstrating basic knowledge of clients' businesses.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax managers, seniors, staff accountants, and interns.
  • Recruit, interview, and assist in hiring tax department personnel.
  • Oversee engagement budgeting, billing, realization, and departmental profitability.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

  • 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. Master's Degree in Taxation is highly preferred.
  • Active CPA certification is required.
  • Extensive experience reviewing complex tax returns and tax planning strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state taxation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadline in a fast-paced environment
