Job description

Location: Ontario, CA; Denver, CO; Boulder, CO; Fort Collins, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Orem, UT; Lehi, UT; Salt Lake City, UT; Las Vegas, NV

Work Arrangement: In-office or Hybrid

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as an IRS Tax Controversy Associate might include the following:

  • Provide consulting services for various federal tax groups including federal audits, federal tax collection issues and tax resolution services.
  • Assist in management and delivery of client IRS, audit, Appeals, collection and penalty abatement projects, including review and analysis of client data, and preparation of required supporting documents and IRS filings.
  • Contact and work with IRS audit, collection and Appeals staff regarding client projects and filings.
  • Manage client deadlines and the workflow for multiple parties, including internal and external clients.
  • Participate in professional association meetings and forums.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.     
  • You have 1-3 years of public accounting or tax resolution experience, IRS collection or federal tax consulting experience is highly preferred, but not a requirement.   
  • You have a valid Certified Public Accountant license or an Enrolled Agent.             
  • You have knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS procedures and processes.       
  • You can communicate clearly in writing and verbally.      
  • You can work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.   
  • You establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and related programs.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Compensation: $65,000-$90,000

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
