Job Description

As part of the Tax Team, the Senior Associate will be involved with the tax reporting processes and client relationships with our hedge fund/private equity clients. The position will include interaction with global offices and clients.

This position is hybrid in our Dallas, Tx or Raleigh, NC offices. Visa sponsorship will not be provided at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of partnership tax allocations using the aggregate methodology

  • Preparation of monthly tax compliant trial balances

  • Provide U.S. tax analysis of transactions including, but not limited to the following:

  • Wash sales analysis

  • Section 1256 analysis

  • Holding period analysis (long-term vs. short term)

  • Constructive sales (section 1259)

  • Straddles (section 1092)

  • Original issue discount (OID)

  • Market discount

  • Treatment of derivatives (e.g., notional principal contracts, options, forwards, futures)

  • Unrelated business taxable income (UBTI)

  • Liaising with client's external tax advisors

  • Maintaining a high-level of attention to client relationships

  • Special projects

Pre-Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Completed a bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting

  • 2+ years of experience in relevant position

  • Must be eligible to take the Uniform CPA Examination (CPA designation a plus)

  • Candidates must be proficient in Excel and Word

  • Must be detailed with paper work and organized

  • Punctual, meticulous and reliable
