What the Tasting Room Bar Back does!

As a tasting room bar back, you'll be essential in connecting the back of the house to the front of the house. You ensure that the tasting room is prepared for service and well stocked, so our sales team can focus their attention on providing exceptional service. This role provides the perfect opportunity to become familiar with our wines and the winery while developing the knowledge and skills required for other guest facing roles. Working at our historic site, the day-to-day may include:

  • Back of the house functions: stocking wine (moving 30+ cases/day), washing and polishing glassware (dozens of glasses), preparing necessities for service
  • Front of the house functions: assisting with bussing tables, setting up tasting room patio for service, interacting with guests and answering inquiries 
  • Tasting wine for quality control and pouring flights of wine
  • Assisting with cleaning and sanitization throughout the service

Requirements

As a Tasting Room Bar Back, you will bring:

  • Hospitality or food service experience preferred
  • Willingness to work with a sense of urgency to support team/guest needs
  • Professional appearance
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Weekend and holiday availability required 
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs frequently, stand, walk, climb stairs, grab, pour, reach, and bend throughout duration of each shift
  • Ability to work outdoors in all-weather conditions for the duration of the shift
