Job description

The Schebler Company is seeking a detailoriented and highly motivated HVAC Estimator & Project Manager to join our growing team. This role works closely with Estimators, Project Managers, Field Leaders, and Construction professionals to design, estimate, and manage complete HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding, customerfocused communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to the Vice President of HVAC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Estimating:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Owners, facility staff, general contractors, other trades, and vendors to gather project information and build future business opportunities.
  • Review plans, specifications, and bidding documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates using Schebler's estimating software and industrystandard tools.
  • Obtain material pricing, subcontractor quotes, and equipment selections to support competitive bids.
  • Prepare professional, projectspecific proposals and quote packages.

Project Management:

  • Manage projects including manpower planning, scheduling, material procurement, and subcontract coordination.
  • Monitor and maintain project profitability through cost tracking, change orders, and budgettoactual comparisons.
  • Identify and resolve productivity or installation challenges in collaboration with field leaders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.
  • Attend job-site meetings as needed to support project delivery and customer expectations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the HVAC division.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred or relevant trade experience or technical certifications strongly valued.

Experience:

  • Experience with building construction, HVAC systems, or mechanical estimating is a plus.
  • Exposure to interpreting mechanical plans, specifications, and construction documents preferred.
  • Experience in field installation or project coordination is beneficial.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
  • Computer proficiency with office software and the ability to learn estimating and project management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of building construction methods and HVAC system components.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with installers, engineers, managers, and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license required; occasional travel to jobsites or customer locations.

Other Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.
