Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Industrial Refrigeration & Boiler)
Location: Onsite in Sioux Falls SD (Relocation Assistance Available)
Hire Type: Direct Hire/Permanent
Target Pay Rate: $50,000-$70,000 per year

Must-Have Skills:
  • 1+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience (or 4+ years of related industrial maintenance experience)
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration and/or boiler systems
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Experience with industrial equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
Job Summary:
The Industrial Refrigeration & Boiler Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing industrial refrigeration, boiler, and utility systems within a manufacturing environment. This role supports plant reliability by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment failures, and ensuring critical utility systems operate safely and efficiently.
Job Duties:
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial refrigeration, boiler, and utility equipment
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Inspect, audit, and monitor equipment to identify maintenance needs before failures occur
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues
  • Assist with maintenance of motors, controls, instrumentation, PLCs, piping, and mechanical systems
  • Support maintenance planning and equipment improvement initiatives
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and complete work orders
  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and minimize production interruptions
  • Follow all safety procedures, food safety requirements, and good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while complying with company safety standards
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school, military training, or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • RETA certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience with three or more of the following is highly preferred:
    • Ammonia refrigeration
    • Boiler and engine systems
    • Electrical systems and motor controls
    • PLCs, controls, and instrumentation
    • Pneumatics and hydraulics
    • Mechanical systems
    • Preventive and predictive maintenance
    • Site utilities
    • Pipefitting and welding
    • Machining or metal fabrication
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
