The Opportunity:
The Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution (NMMES) program, under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), provides the backbone IT systems for public shipyards. It enables the modernization of ship maintenance by delivering integrated planning, engineering, materials, and execution data.
As a Siemens Solution Architect, you will design and implement Siemens Opcenter (Manufacturing Execution System - MES) and Teamcenter (Product Lifecycle Management - PLM) solutions from the ground up to support NMMES modernization. This role requires expertise in solution architecture, configuration, and technical integration. You will ensure that Siemens platforms align with shipyard business processes, cybersecurity standards, and NAVSEA's long-term digital engineering vision.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical authority for Siemens Opcenter (MES) and Teamcenter (PLM) deployment under NMMES.
  • Design system architecture and lead configuration for MES and PLM solutions.
  • Ensure Siemens implementations support Navy shipyard engineering, planning, and production workflows.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and shipyard stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Oversee system performance, scalability, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior architects and developers.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT-related field.
  • 10+ years of IT solution architecture, with at least one from-scratch MES implementation.
  • Strong expertise in Siemens Opcenter/Teamcenter configuration and deployment.
  • Experience integrating PLM/MES with complex manufacturing or maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements and Navy IT standards.

Desired:
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related.
  • Familiarity with Navy shipyard operations and NMMES/NAVSEA business processes.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or heavy manufacturing.
  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or similar architecture certification.
  • Ability to support digital twin and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) initiatives.
