Position Overview:
TEAM is seeking an experienced, technically capable, and safety-focused Hot Tap and Line Stop Technician to lead and perform various tasks and work scopes within the service level qualification assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
  • The primary role is responsible for executing and leading Hot Tap and Line Stop operations in accordance with the technician certification following company processes and procedures, achieve or exceed quality expectations for the performance of Hot Tap and Line Stop operations that may include any of the following techniques and tasks:
    • Creating a safe entry into a pipe or vessel; operating at a pressure or vacuum
    • Hot taps and conventional line stops
    • Hot stops
    • Hi-Stops®
    • Super Hi-Stops®
    • Double Line Stops
    • 45 Degree angle taps
    • Tee stops and elbow stops
    • Across-the-line stops
    • Through the line valve stops
    • Freeze stops
  • Attend and complete the required training to maintain competence and to continuously improve their skills and levels of competence and knowledge.
  • Identifies circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Maintain all tooling and equipment, document all service activities as required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment to include the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non-field duties.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to investigations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.

Work Conditions
  • Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant or pipeline atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • Required to travel out of town 75%-100%

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical school, Industry or relevant training preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a Hot Tap industrial setting is required.
  • Driving License, TWIC Card, preferred.

Additional Job Description
Anticipated compensation for this role is $45,760 per year plus benefits.
Note: Disclosure as required by HB3129 of the pay range for this role when being hired into our locations in Illinois. Team reserves the right to pay more or less than the pasted range. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and geography.
