Position: Desktop Engineer / Endpoint Specialist (Tanium Preferred)

Location: Dayton, OH (Onsite)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Position Overview: Evoke Technologies is looking for a Desktop Engineer / Endpoint Management Specialist to support a massive enterprise workstation migration and laptop re-imaging initiative. Operating as part of our specialized endpoint management delivery team, you will be responsible for testing desktop images, building installer packages, automating bare-metal or self-service builds, and resolving complex technical issues to guarantee a smooth transition into the client''''s target environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Asset Validation: Review and validate comprehensive workstation and laptop inventories across employee and contractor device pools.

Hardware & Firmware Prep: Remediate hardware-level blockers, including executing firmware upgrades for devices impacted by SecureBoot certificate updates.

Image Testing & Optimization: Test target Windows desktop images and associated build implementations, ensuring seamless application and configuration package delivery.

Large-Scale Deployment: Support the execution of automated bare-metal or self-service installer builds for thousands of endpoints across structured migration waves.

Endpoint Validation: Verify newly re-imaged machines for core technical functionality, standard software presence, security tool onboarding, and domain access readiness.

Advanced Troubleshooting: Serve as the tier-3 engineering escalation point to resolve complex user profile, driver, or software compatibility issues on newly deployed Windows 11 devices.

Service Desk Enablement: Document known issues and workarounds, producing high-quality operational runbooks for the Service Desk to minimize post-migration ticket volumes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience in Windows desktop engineering, OS imaging, and managing endpoint deployment waves during corporate integrations.
  • Technical proficiency utilizing Tanium for endpoint management, automated software delivery, package creation, and configuration enforcement.
  • Solid understanding of local workstation configurations, profile migrations, printer driver deployment, and peripheral troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience with Windows 11 migrations, enterprise deployment tools, and remote user validation.
  • Location & Travel: Based out of the Dayton, OH area, with the willingness to travel to client operational hubs to support physical deployment waves, hardware collection, or specialized on-site engineering support.
