Shifts are on a rotating 2-week schedule:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours)

Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours)


As the Maintenance Supervisor for Tangent, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the organization by

leading a team of Maintenance Mechanics supporting four production facilities in Aurora, IL. You will also be

responsible for coordinating with engineering and operations teams to schedule and complete preventative

maintenance.

Requirements:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of plastic extrusion machines, CNC routers, robotic assembly cells, and other pieces of production equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to design and implement preventative maintenance schedules that improve machinery uptime
  • Manage execution of preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment according to the schedule in coordination with production leadership
  • Identify necessary spare parts to service equipment
  • Develop best practices for maintenance on different equipment designs to improve uptime
  • Assign technicians to complete equipment repairs based on production priorities and technician skills
  • Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify sources of equipment failure and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Develop and implement a training plan to ensure that the skills necessary to perform equipment maintenance are properly distributed throughout the team and sufficient to respond quickly to expected failure modes
  • Coach and mentor the team in exhibiting a high level of professionalism and excellent collaboration and communications with the various functional teams


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Prior experience leading small teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with production equipment maintenance processes
  • Must have knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 120/480 volts)
  • Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of a safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, capable of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have your own set of standard tools


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 3 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with leading small teams
  • Prior experience working in plastics manufacturing
  • Experience with lean and/or six sigma methodologies


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
