What is a talent?

'Talent' jobs typically refer to roles involved in identifying, recruiting, managing, and developing individuals with skills valuable to an organization, often within human resources or the entertainment industry. In HR, talent professionals focus on talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee development. In entertainment, 'talent' can also mean individuals like actors, musicians, or performers, and the teams that manage their careers. These jobs are crucial for ensuring organizations or productions have the right people to achieve their goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Talent Acquisition Specialist?

To thrive as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you need a solid understanding of recruitment strategies, candidate sourcing, and workforce planning, often supported by a degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR software, and sourcing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter is typically required. Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills help you connect with candidates and hiring managers. These skills ensure effective recruitment processes, high-quality hires, and a positive employer brand in a competitive talent market.

Talent Acquisition Specialists work closely with hiring managers to understand the specific needs of each vacancy, including required skills and team dynamics. They often participate in initial intake meetings, provide market insights, and help refine job descriptions. Throughout the recruitment process, they act as a liaison, ensuring clear communication between candidates and the hiring team, coordinating interviews, and offering guidance on selection to ensure a seamless hiring experience.

Through partnership with TEA, utilities benefit from an experienced organization that is singularly focused on deriving the maximum value of their assets from the market.

Join Our Team as a Talent & Engagement Coordinator!

At TEA, we believe our people are our greatest asset. As a Talent & Engagement Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in helping us attract exceptional talent while creating an engaging and rewarding employee experience.

This position is a unique blend of recruiting, employee engagement, event coordination, and People Operations support. You'll help drive our collegiate recruiting efforts, coordinate hiring activities, support company culture initiatives, and contribute to programs that make TEA a great place to work.

If you're highly organized, people-focused, and energized by building relationships and creating meaningful experiences, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
  • Support the recruitment process from application through offer, including candidate communication, interview coordination, and applicant tracking.
  • Conduct initial resume reviews and assist hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
  • Manage interview scheduling, travel arrangements, and candidate logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Monitor and manage job postings across recruiting platforms.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Generate recruiting metrics and reports to support hiring decisions and recruiting effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and attend career fairs, networking events, and recruiting initiatives.
  • Represent TEA at college and university recruiting events while building relationships with students, faculty, and career services teams.
  • Travel as needed to support campus recruiting and talent acquisition initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Assist with planning and executing employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, wellness activities, training programs, and company events.
  • Create and coordinate employee communications that support engagement and organizational initiatives.
  • Support employee surveys, feedback programs, and engagement reporting.
  • Maintain engagement calendars, event schedules, and participation records.
  • Help foster a positive, collaborative, and connected workplace culture.
People Operations Support
  • Maintain personnel files and employee records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and process employee documentation, status changes, reports, and records updates.
  • Assist with audits, compliance activities, reporting, and record retention.
  • Coordinate departmental meetings and administrative activities.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and provide general People Operations support.
Why You'll Love It
  • You'll have a direct impact on both attracting great talent and enhancing the employee experience.
  • You'll gain exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, employee engagement, events, and People Operations.
  • You'll represent TEA at universities and networking events, helping shape the future of our workforce.
  • Every day is different—you'll balance recruiting, relationship building, event planning, and employee support.
  • You'll join a collaborative team that values innovation, growth, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar HRIS platform is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business applications.
  • A positive attitude, strong customer-service mindset, and passion for creating great employee experiences.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel approximately 15-20% of the time for collegiate recruiting events, career fairs, conferences, and company-sponsored activities.
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support recruiting and employee engagement events.
Why TEA?

At TEA, you'll be part of a team that values collaboration, integrity, innovation, and continuous growth. We believe in investing in our people, celebrating success, and creating opportunities for employees to make a meaningful impact.

Whether you're helping us recruit the next generation of talent or creating memorable employee experiences, you'll play an important role in shaping our culture and supporting the continued success of our organization.
