Experience

  • Habitat experience preferred but not required

License or Certification

  • Valid driver license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferred
  • Pesticide license issued by the state where employed preferred

Specialized Skills

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
  • Deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability communicate effectively with crew members and manager
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required

  • Frequently works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Perform habitat restoration tasks, including but not limited to: Native plant installation, mulching of plantings, noxious weed control.
  • Safe operation of landscape equipment, including but not limited to: ditch witch, wheelbarrows, power tools, backpack blowers, chipper, stump grinder, bobcats, tractors, and bull dozers.
  • Assist with initial and on-going training of crews
  • Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with manager and team members.
  • Promote and maintain safe working conditions
  • Show up to work each day on time; complete all tasks within time expectations; adhere to company dress code policy; wear clean clothes to work each day; follow inclement weather policy and time off reporting procedures

TREE CLIMBERS

EXPERIENCE:

  • Someone whos passionate about the industry and has at least one year of professional tree climbing experience.
  • You know basic tree care principals, cabling, pruning techniques, tree ID and disease ID.
  • Youre not afraid of heights. Youll be climbing trees over 15, performing work on branches and truck platforms.
  • You can perform physically demanding work. Besides climbing, youll be lifting, pushing, and pulling 25-50 lbs frequently; bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, walking; and working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Youre as committed to safety as we are. Some of the things we train on monthly, and expect all of our employees to know are: aerial rescue, use of proper PPE, hazard recognition, Dig Alert procedures and tree removal techniques; basic knots and rope operation for rigging; emergency tree rescue procedures.
  • Youve got an excellent work ethic and can show up on time for work each day.


Some of what youll be doing

  • Trimming, topping, and reshaping trees
  • Using chainsaws, hooks, handsaws, shears, and clippers to cut away dead and excess branches
  • Transplanting and removing trees and shrubs
  • Splitting logs
  • Operating chipping equipment
  • Inspecting trees for disease or pest problems

Pay range

  • Crew Member: $19.00 - $23.00
  • Tree Climber: $25.00 - $32.00
