Job description

Neon is seeking a Manager - Propeller Product Design to lead a small, elite team developing propeller systems from concept through certification and production. This role is built for a hands-on engineering leader from a high-standard organization who is comfortable moving quickly, making strong technical decisions, and delivering quality hardware under aggressive timelines.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in mechanical or aerospace system design, analysis, development, and production introduction.ย 
  • Experience leading engineers in demanding product development environments.
  • Strong background in mechanical or aerospace system design, analysis, and production introduction.
  • Experience transitioning designs into manufacturing or other hands-on technical settings.
  • Understanding of aerospace certification techniques, terminology, and accepted practices.
  • Experience with FAA or military qualification of systems is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with rotating machinery, propellers, rotors, VTOL systems, or traditional aircraft is highly desired.
  • Experience reviewing engineering data with rigor and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CAD, drawings, GD&T, model-based definition, CFD, and structural substantiation.
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to comply with export control, ITAR, and related security requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience leading small, agile, high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience in certification of propeller, rotor, or other rotating flight systems.
  • Experience in organizations with high technical standards and aggressive development schedules.
