Talent Operations information

What is talent operations?

Talent Operations refers to the systems, processes, and strategies that support the hiring, development, and retention of employees within an organization. This role focuses on optimizing talent management practices, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency in HR-related workflows. Talent Operations professionals work closely with HR, recruitment, and business leaders to implement best practices and leverage data for decision-making. Their goal is to build a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and employees throughout the talent lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a talent operations professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Talent Operations professional, you need a strong understanding of HR processes, data analysis, and organizational strategy, often supported by a degree in human resources or business administration. Familiarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking software, and data reporting tools is commonly required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills help you optimize processes and support both HR teams and employees. These competencies ensure efficient talent management, accurate reporting, and a positive employee experience in a dynamic organizational environment.

What types of cross-functional collaboration are common in a talent operations role?

These collaborations are essential for streamlining recruitment processes, ensuring smooth onboarding, and maintaining accurate employee data. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders are key, as you’ll often be the connecting point between various teams to support workforce planning and talent initiatives.

InRule Technology®, Inc. is a PE-backed SaaS company with hundreds of customers in more than 40 countries. Our integrated Decision Intelligence Platform (DIP) combines decisioning, process automation, and machine learning to help IT and business leaders make better decisions faster, operationalize AI, and improve complex processes.
We are trusted by some of the world's largest banks, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, and governments for mission-critical applications. By making automation accessible, InRule increases productivity, drives revenue, and delivers exceptional business outcomes.
About the role
The Talent Acquisition & People Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting InRule's growth strategy. Reporting to the CFO, this role owns full-cycle talent acquisition, employer branding, pre-boarding and onboarding experience, contingent workforce and Employer of Record (EOR) management, and HRIS administration and reporting. The successful candidate will drive approximately 15+ hires annually across a global, multi-entity organization including direct employees, EOR employees, and contractors worldwide.
The ideal candidate brings experience across both recruiting and broader HR operations, has a demonstrated track record of thriving in a dynamic, high-growth environment, and enjoys working on multiple projects and work streams at one time.
What you'll do
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Manage full-cycle recruiting, for technical and business roles, from sourcing through offer acceptance.
    • Partner with hiring managers on role scoping, hiring strategy, and employment structure decisions across direct, EOR, and contractor pathways.
    • Coordinate right-to-work verification and pre-employment requirements.
    • Partner with legal counsel on employee-facing documentation including offer letters, employment & confidentiality agreements, and other employment-related contracts.
    • Manage recruiting vendor and external agency relationships.
  • Employer Branding & Talent Marketing
    • Own employer brand presence which includes the InRule careers page, LinkedIn Talent brand, and Glassdoor profile.
    • Develop and execute employer branding initiatives that attract top talent across technical and business functions globally.
    • Partner with marketing on employer brand alignment with overall brand identity.
    • Maintain recruiting content including job descriptions and candidate-facing materials.
  • Pre-Boarding & Onboarding Experience
    • Own the pre-boarding process from offer acceptance through Day 1 readiness, including equipment requests, system access, and first-day logistics.
    • Design, maintain, and continuously improve the overall onboarding experience and 30/60/90-day framework.
  • Contingent Workforce & EOR Management
    • Serve as InRule's primary administrator for EOR provider relationships, including country-specific compliance questions, onboarding and offboarding coordination.
    • Maintain contractor agreements, renewal dates, and classification compliance across InRule's global contractors, including periodic audits to mitigate misclassification risk
  • HRIS Administration & HR Reporting
    • Administer the headcount budgeting and requisition management process.
    • Own day-to-day HRIS and ATS data integrity including employee records, org structure, employment changes, system accuracy and recruiting data.
    • Build and maintain HR reporting including headcount dashboards, attrition tracking, exit interview analysis, hiring metrics, and people analytics for leadership.

What we're looking for
  • Required
    • 4-7 years of full-cycle recruiting in a SaaS or technology environment.
    • Genuine interest in broader HR operations work, this is not a pure recruiting role.
    • Demonstrated ability to own multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
    • Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms, HR reporting, and recruiting analytics.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Comfortable building process and operating with ambiguity in a scaling, global organization.

What we offer
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Flexible work environment.
  • The opportunity to build and shape a premium support function with measurable customer impact.
  • A collaborative culture with close partnership across Support, Engineering, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Professional growth within a scaling SaaS organization.

The pay range for this role is:
95,000 - 115,000 USD per year (InRule Chicago)
