About the team and position

We're looking for an experienced and proven cross-functional Senior Manager to join our unique and exciting organization, supporting Talent Acquisition efforts within our Operations Talent team. The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition will have the unique opportunity to strategically build, develop, and lead the execution of full life-cycle recruiting for Carvana's Operations teams, while guiding a recruiting team to meet (or crush) high-volume hiring targets.

In this role you'll lead your team to success in one of our company's top priorities - staffing Carvana's Operations teams with top talent. You'll also develop strong business relationships with your business partners and internal customers. Most importantly, you'll see your efforts and insights result in an immediate, tangible impact every day in a company that's been (and will continue) changing the game.

Work Location

This role is located at our Corporate HQ in Tempe, AZ and is performed on-site, 5 days a week.

What you'll be doing

  • Guide the day-to-day full life-cycle recruiting efforts for Inspection Center recruiting - specifically focused on hourly positions and leadership positions within our local markets.
  • Support with planning and executing high-volume recruiting strategies and initiatives.
  • Guide a team of recruiters to meet their individual staffing goals through effective hiring, development, coaching, performance management, and engagement.
  • Review and analyze data to identify trends; recommend solutions to improve recruiting effectiveness and increase the quality of talent hired.
  • Monitor and maintain weekly and monthly reports to track staffing, hire rate, candidate pipeline, and other metrics necessary to identify recruitment gaps, and overall effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to anticipate and meet evolving hiring needs.
  • Help develop and leverage a diverse toolbox of creative and traditional sourcing techniques.
  • Ensure a candidate-centric approach aligned with our Carvana Values.
  • Partner with Talent Development, HR Operations, and Operations leadership to help translate talent needs into quality candidates and new hires.
  • Constantly thinking of new ways to improve all things recruiting including the candidate experience, interview practices, funnel-building, reporting, quality of hire, hiring manager experience, and more.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you should know/have

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution required.
  • 5+ years of experience in recruiting, human resources, organizational development, or operations leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in people leadership.
  • Prior experience creating and implementing recruiting strategies (or other relevant people strategies) and process improvements.
  • An outstanding communicator with relationship-building skills – your friends would call you authentic, energetic, persuasive, and self-aware. You know when to listen, as well as when to speak up.
  • Strong facilitation and project management skills.
  • Able to hustle – you get things done even after everyone else has given up, and work hard because you love to. You have a bias towards action.
  • Problem solving capabilities with ability to apply judgment and make decisions.
  • Displays strong business acumen – sees the big picture and operates with perspective.
  • Strong operational experience in reporting and data analysis to drive strategy and achieve hiring goals.

We'd love it if you also have

  • Master's degree from an accredited graduate school or university.
  • Experience in supply chain, automotive, or vehicle reconditioning recruiting.
  • Experience leveraging Tableau or similar reporting dashboard(s) to review and utilize metrics toward reaching team/department goals.
