Title: Lab Technician I
Location: Onsite at Research Triangle Park, NC
Duration: 6 Months

Description:
Responsibilities
Routine Laboratory Maintenance & Equipment Support - 50%
โ€ข Assist with routine laboratory procedures under supervision
โ€ข Follow established protocols and detailed instructions provided by senior staff
โ€ข Record basic observations or data as directed
โ€ข Inventory, order, receive, and stock appropriate levels of raw materials and lab consumables
โ€ข Perform daily lab equipment calibration/verification checks- including pH meters, cell counters and biochemical analyzers
โ€ข Perform routine lab equipment/glassware cleaning and maintenance activities
โ€ข Data acquisition in paper and electronic systems
โ€ข Mange hazardous waste disposal
Bioreactor Support Activities - 30%
โ€ข Support for 3L, 7L and 15L Bioreactors systems
โ€ข Setup, calibration, troubleshooting and breakdown/decontamination
โ€ข Track & and perform required maintenance
โ€ข Perform routine sampling of ongoing cultures
Downstream Support Activities - 20%
โ€ข Clean and autoclave glassware,
โ€ข Sanitize automated systems (e.g. AKTA, Protein Maker, Tecan)
โ€ข Track & and perform required maintenance
Required Education and Experience
โ€ข Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Biotechnology, Biology or related field + 1 years experience in an industrial laboratory
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and work ethic
โ€ข Basic understanding of and interest in cell biology
โ€ข Prior experience with Bioreactor, Filtration systems, Akta Chromatography systems or TFF systems would be plus
โ€ข Works well as part of a team
โ€ข Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
โ€ข Reports to Process Development Associate Director/Director
