Manufacturing Operations Engineer (Mandarin Required)

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire - $40-45/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Engineer to support daily production activities within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with production teams, troubleshooting operational issues, and improving manufacturing efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience in at least one of the following areas: SMT, production, production line support, or manufacturing operations.

This position requires close collaboration with internal teams as well as engineering groups in Taiwan, so strong bilingual communication skills in Mandarin and English are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing and production floor operations
  • Troubleshoot production issues and assist with real-time problem resolution
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Assist with process setup, production flow, and manufacturing support activities
  • Update and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement and yield enhancement initiatives
  • Support new product builds and manufacturing transition activities
  • Coordinate with Taiwan-based teams to ensure alignment on technical and production matters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 0–5 years of experience in ONE OR MORE of the following:
  • SMT operations
  • Production support
  • Production line operations
  • Manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English (required)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB assembly
  • Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to process improvement or yield optimization initiatives
  • Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing production needs
