Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Data Scientist to join our healthcare analytics team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and healthcare domain expertise to analyze large-scale healthcare datasets and generate actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, optimize healthcare operations, reduce costs, and support value-based care initiatives. This role requires strong experience working with healthcare claims, EHR/EMR, clinical, pharmacy, and population health data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large and complex healthcare datasets including claims, EHR/EMR, pharmacy, lab, and enrollment data.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models for readmission risk, disease progression, patient stratification, cost forecasting, and utilization management.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, statistical modeling, and machine learning model development.
  • Design and implement healthcare analytics solutions to support population health management and value-based care programs.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, actuarial, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making.
  • Evaluate healthcare quality measures, risk adjustment methodologies, and outcomes analysis.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows.
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare data governance standards.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Product Owners, and Healthcare SMEs to deliver impactful analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics.
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry experience (Payer, Provider, Healthcare Consulting, HealthTech, or PBM).
  • Strong experience with healthcare datasets such as:
    • Claims Data
    • EHR/EMR Data
    • Pharmacy Data
    • Clinical Data
    • Laboratory Data
    • Population Health Data
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
    • SQL
    • R (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
