Job description

Tableau Dashboard Developer

State of Texas, Austin, TX-78751 – Hybrid (office attendance 2 to 3 times per week at LBJ Building; candidates must already reside in Texas).

Interview mode: In Person, Through Microsoft Teams. Travel expenses to the office will not be reimbursed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12+ years total experience.
  • Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government) preferred.
  • Advanced SQL expertise (at least 5 years).
  • Experience developing BI reports in Tableau (including Tableau Prep) and with advanced visualization tools such as QlikView, QlikSense, SAS.
  • Strong Python knowledge.
  • Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience with data integration, ETL, data quality, and multi‑dimensional design.
  • Knowledge of complex application security requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrum).

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced SQL scripts and database objects.
  • Build and optimize Tableau dashboards and visualizations in accordance with standards and best practices.
  • Analyze business requirements with stakeholders and translate them into robust data models and reports.
  • Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and provide clear status updates.
  • Document data models and report specifications; transfer knowledge to staff.
  • Present BI solutions to business customers and managers.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data accuracy and timely delivery.
