Job description

Healthcare BI Developer - Utilization Management

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Healthcare BI Developer - Utilization Management (Business Information Developer Consultant) will be responsible for designing and delivering advanced data solutions that drive informed business decisions. This role combines hands-on development with data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to support strategic initiatives.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Define and deliver data solutions that support decision-making across the organization
  • Model data sources, data flows, and warehouse structures to ensure scalability and integrity.
  • Contribute to project planning, timelines, and deliverables for assigned initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reporting solutions and dashboards using enterprise data warehouse platforms.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
  • Develops and supports complex data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.
  • The majority of time will be spent coding.
  • Conducts training on the use of applications developed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, & Experiences:

  • Healthcare analytics experience.
  • Experience with utilization management data strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Utilization Management systems and Behavioral Health programs highly desired.
  • 4 years of database development and data management.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Strong experience in MS SQL Server (2016 or newer).
  • Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, SSRS).
  • Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries and stored procedures
  • Strong Excel and general data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, project management/implementation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn.
