Senior Workday Tester / Workday QA Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Workday Tester / Workday QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience testing Workday implementations, enhancements, integrations, and business processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Security, and Integrations, with a primary focus on Quality Assurance, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing.

This is a QA/Test-focused Workday role, not primarily a Workday configuration or development position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive Workday test strategies and test plans.

  • Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and expected results.

  • Execute functional testing across Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Security, and Business Processes.

  • Perform Workday integration testing between Workday and external systems.

  • Validate inbound and outbound integration data, files, interfaces, processing results, and error handling.

  • Perform data validation and reconciliation between Workday and downstream/upstream systems.

  • Execute regression testing following Workday configuration changes, enhancements, and releases.

  • Perform end-to-end testing across complete Workday business processes.

  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution.

  • Support UAT and business validation activities.

  • Validate Workday security through positive and negative testing.

  • Support Workday release testing and assess potential impacts to existing functionality.

  • Prepare test execution reports and communicate testing status, risks, and defects.

  • Collaborate with Workday functional consultants, integration teams, developers, business users, and other QA resources.

Required Technical Skills
  • Strong hands-on Workday Testing / QA experience.

  • Experience with Workday HCM / Core HCM.

  • Experience testing Workday Payroll.

  • Experience testing Workday Benefits.

  • Experience with Workday Security Testing.

  • Strong Workday Business Process Testing experience.

  • Hands-on Workday Integration Testing experience.

  • Experience with Regression Testing and End-to-End Testing.

  • Strong knowledge of Functional Testing, System Testing, and UAT.

  • Experience creating Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and Test Scripts.

  • Experience with Defect Management and Defect Tracking.

  • Experience testing Workday releases and enhancements.

  • Understanding of EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) and/or Workday Studio is highly preferred.

  • Understanding of Workday web services, integrations, APIs, or interfaces is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Workday Certification

Workday Certification is mandatory.

Candidates must be able to provide appropriate evidence of their current Workday certification for verification.
