Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Test Engineer / Senior Principal System Test Engineer for the Launch Systems team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This position will support system test activities be responsible including prototype, development and qualification testing.
What You'll Get To Do:
  • As part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) you will work with System Engineers, Designers and Analysts to plan, execute and document testing for your assigned systems.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
  • Develop test plans, procedures and test reports.
  • Support development of instrumentation requirements for testing.
  • Oversee and direct both test house activities and supplier testing activities for assigned systems.
  • Provide test status to customer. Document test results and prepare test status documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, suppliers, lab operations and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.

Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Test Engineer level (T-03) or Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer level (T-04).
  • Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors in Science with 5 years of experience, Masters with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors of Science with 8 years of experience, Masters with 6 years of experience or PhD with 4 year of experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, received or adjudicated in the last 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DOD Top-Secret Clearance with completed investigation within the last 6 years.
  • Experience with EMI & EMC Testing per Mil-Std-461.
  • Experience with Shock and Vibration testing per Mil-Std-810.
  • Experience with Construction Material and Structural testing.
  • Experience with A&E testing.
  • Experience with Supplier Management Experience.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
