Job description

Position Title: AV Systems Integration Specialist (Hybrid)
Location: Near Boston, MA
Salary: $40 - $48/hr
Overview
Our technology integration client is seeking a hybrid AV Systems Integration Specialist to join its growing team. This role focuses on configuring, testing, and troubleshooting advanced software- and network-based Audio-Visual (AV) systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, hands-on installation experience, and a deep understanding of AV principles and system functionality. This hybrid position combines lab-based configuration and field deployment work, supporting both local and regional projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, test, and validate AV systems both in the configuration lab and on-site.
  • Perform rack fabrication, system wiring, and connectivity verification in the lab.
  • Load, test, and document customized control programs, DSP files, and touch panel interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical configuration issues efficiently.
  • Configure and deploy collaborative solutions from major manufacturers (e.g., Neat, Logitech, Poly, Cisco).
  • Support on-site installation teams by verifying system wiring, testing components, and performing final commissioning.
  • Conduct end-user training on AV software and control interfaces.
  • Collaborate on system analysis, design, and testing during project development.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain configuration procedures and best practices.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior integration specialists as needed.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial AV installation, commissioning, and service.
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, and/or CQT certifications preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with Crestron, Biamp, Extron, and QSC systems, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Webex conferencing platforms.
  • Experience with AV design and control software tools; direct programming experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles; networking certifications or formal training preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with projectors, displays, video walls, cabling, rigging, and rack wiring.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools including crimpers, soldering tools, and aerial lifts.
  • Experience with audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
