The Site Systems Engineering Specialist - Construction Applications supports the definition, integration, and validation of end-to-end construction site technology solutions. This role works closely with the Construction Site Systems Engineering Lead to convert customer, business, and program needs into scalable solution requirements, interface definitions, architecture inputs, and delivery plans.
This position collaborates across machine, onboard software, office software, architecture, delivery, and validation teams to support safe, integrated construction solutions. The role focuses on systems engineering, requirements management, architecture alignment, integration planning, and cross-functional coordination for connected construction technology applications.
What You Will Do:
  • Support development and maintenance of end-to-end construction site solution requirements, interfaces, constraints, and behaviors.
  • Partner with machine systems, office software, architecture, and delivery teams to align solution behaviors, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Contribute to architecture activities including requirements traceability, verification planning, technical reviews, integration planning, and support for program and NPI deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts including requirements, interface definitions, design documentation, and verification evidence.
  • Support identification and resolution of cross-product and cross-team integration issues impacting solution performance and readiness.
  • Participate in technical reviews, architecture discussions, and governance activities to ensure construction needs are represented in system-level decisions.
  • Assist construction site solution deployments by supporting readiness reviews, validation activities, issue investigation, and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Site Systems Engineering Lead to identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans across multiple programs and initiatives.

  • Systems Engineering artifacts, requirements traceability, and verification evidence supporting program & NPI Milestones
  • Construction solution integration plans and issue resolution tracking
  • Risk, dependency, and readiness assessments for program delivery
  • Baseline updates and documentation supporting deployed construction solutions

What You Have:
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to understand how machine, onboard, office, network, and operational systems interact to deliver integrated construction solutions.
  • Technical Excellence: Demonstrated ability to solve complex systems integration challenges through sound engineering analysis, collaboration, and structured problem solving.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to balance competing program needs, technical challenges, stakeholder requests, and project timelines while maintaining focus on key deliverables.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and influence technical outcomes through communication, analysis, and engineering expertise.
  • Requirements and Integration Focus: Experience defining, tracing, validating, and managing requirements while supporting end-to-end integration efforts.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $208,770.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
