POSITION PROFILE:
Looking to join one of our interdisciplinary engineering teams that collaborates for success? The Systems Engineering Technician role works closely with members of the Systems Engineering and Transition Engineering group, who will supervise activities and provide on-the-job training. This role will frequently work with laser systems used in weapon mounted aiming, range finding, and target marking, as well as lenses/imaging systems. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical support to engineers during the design and prototype phases of optical and laser systems
  • Assemble optical or laser modules
  • Collect data for discussion with the engineering team
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of systems or sub-systems as required

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of military-based electro-optical or laser systems.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to cleanroom environment.
  • Experience collecting and interpreting laser characteristics including pulse width, wavelength, divergence, alignment, energy/power.
  • Ability to collect and interpret imaging system characteristics including MTF/SFR, NEDT, MRT, distortion, alignment
  • Creating build and alignment processes for development of new products.
  • Autonomously assemble and align optical test stations
  • Ability to comprehensively document assembly processes for use in the creation of Work Instructions.
  • Experience collecting and presenting data to an engineering team
  • This individual must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Demonstrate a degree of creativity and latitude to accept responsibility for the timely delivery of high quality products.
  • Ability to work under general supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident

IDEALLY, YOU'LL ALSO HAVE:
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the laser and electro-optical systems field.
  • Experience in the development and testing of laser and imaging systems
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish technical goals.
  • Experience working in an ITAR environment.
  • Associates Degree or trade school certification in a related technical discipline
