Job description

Senior Systems Engineer II will independently and collaboratively conduct system-level activities supporting a group's objectives of systems programs.ย

SSCI focuses on the creation of AI/ML enabled capabilities to command, control, communicate with, and manage composable collections of intelligent agents, smart sensors, and autonomous platforms across all domains.

Please be aware that many of our positions require the ability to obtain a US DOD security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Significantly support system design reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR/TRR) for Autonomy Systems, develop interfaces (IDDs, ICDs) and operational/system/data viewpoints, in alignment with customer standards such as DoDAF.ย 
  • Perform system-level integration and test activities to ensure the Autonomy Systems meets or exceeds functional and performance system requirements.ย 
  • Define and document system requirements, interfaces, and performance metrics.ย 
  • Perform system-level modeling and simulation (M+S) and analyses using digital models and analysis tools, such as AFSIM, to quantify the utility or effectiveness of an autonomy system.ย 
  • Support proposal activities by performing M+S, technical data analyses and creating/ revising assigned technical content sections as needed.ย 
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, using tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, to create and maintain system models, ensuring clarity and traceability.ย 
  • Perform system analysis, such as requirements analyses, and design activities to support the development of Autonomy System Architectures, models, data, and interfaces.ย 
  • Develop working knowledge of Aerospace and DoD Systems Engineering Management, and relevant customer or industry processes, such as DoD 5000.ย 
  • This position requires the ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.ย 
  • May require the ability to push/pull/lift up to 15 poundsย 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active US DOD Security Clearance.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelors' of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experienceย and 5+ years of progressive systems engineering experience in a related industry.ย 
  • Experience with the development, integration, and test of autonomous systems.ย 
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and formal tools for SysML.ย 
  • Experience with modeling and simulation (M&S) and formal tools for simulation and analysis, such as AFSIM.ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Master's of Science degree or PhDย 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, CAD, AutoCAD, AFSIM, and tools such as Cameo/MagicDrawย 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย 
  • Ability to identify and creatively solve complex problemsย 
  • Ability to execute logical reasoning and decision-making skillsย
