Enterprise Engineering is at the heart of Meta. By transforming the way businesses function, we are helping to bring billions of people around the world closer together. As an engineering team focused on enterprise solutions, our goal is to provide a solid foundation and platform for Meta businesses to build services and run workloads. As a Systems Engineer, you will build the infrastructure for our high-traffic, high-visibility services. You will provide operational support for critical services that enable connected experiences found across Meta. This position will be part of the Client Platform Engineering team that manages, implements, and supports client infrastructures enabling the company to grow rapidly and connect with the world.
Enterprise Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Build, scale, and secure the client platform within Meta's enterprise infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment containing varied operating systems and applications
  • Lead operating system lifecycle management, hardware refresh initiatives, endpoint modernization program
  • Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage
  • Build enterprise-grade applications and utilities for Windows, Linux, VDI, and Chrome browser using modern programming languages
  • Build reusable libraries, SDKs, and automated frameworks to standardize endpoint lifecycle management across Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, and VDI platforms
  • Engineers and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions across public and private clouds. private cloud environments
  • Implement application virtualization and application streaming technologies
  • Optimize VDI performance, scalability, storage, and networking and end user experience
  • Configure browser policies, extension management, kiosk mode, zero-touch enrollment, and Chrome OS lifecycle management
  • Implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented, and train others to take on operations
  • Find ways to leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Networking teams to deliver client platform solutions
  • Participate in incident root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, platform engineering, or end-user computing
  • 5+ years of experience automating the management of infrastructure and services
  • 5+ years of experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef and PowerShell DSC
  • 5+ years of experience in PowerShell scripting (developing advanced functions & modules)
  • 5+ years of experience coding in an object-oriented or functional language such as C#, Python, Ruby, PHP, Rust, or Go
  • A thorough understanding of Windows/Linux operating system internals
  • Demonstrated experience in completing tasks and small/medium-sized features with minimal guidance
  • Experience with using source control, such as Git or Mercurial
  • Experience designing a solution across public and private clouds
  • Experience in reprioritizing work based on shifting business needs, communicating trade-offs, and adjusting project plans accordingly

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of MDM architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise devices
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms such as AirWatch, MobileIron, Intune, Device Enrollment Program, Android/Apple Enterprise Device Management
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience with device provisioning and zero-touch deployment technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy review)
  • Prior experience in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native SDKs to automate endpoint and VDI infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Prior experience in managing Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, and enterprise VDI
  • Prior experience in building services, Platform as a Service or internal cloud services
  • Experience with APIs to streamline the administration, management, and monitoring of services
