Raytheon's Advanced Programs is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in Electronic Warfare (EW) to join our team. You'll be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This position requires a background in systems engineering and experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) systems development and implementation processes. This is an onsite role in Goleta, California.
What You Will Do
  • Serve as the Systems Engineering focal point for the program and ensure alignment to technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Lead configuration management, requirements analysis, functional and timeline analysis, trade studies, and interface definitions that translate customer needs into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams and partner with the Program Chief Engineer or Lead Systems Engineer on execution strategy.
  • Maintain and enforce systems engineering processes across the program lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain system specifications, design documentation, and test plans.
  • Coordinate systems engineering activities including system design, integration, testing, and verification.
  • Conduct system-level trade studies, architectural exploration, and performance analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer presentations.
  • Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics) and 2 years of relevant systems engineering, EW/Radar system development, including requirements decomposition, architecture definition, and system-level integration & verification planning
  • Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as requirements, specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification/validation (V&V) plans
  • Support system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and coordinating across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Writing, managing, and tracing system and subsystem requirements for EW/Radar systems throughout the lifecycle
  • Defining system architectures, performance budgets, and interface definitions (RF, digital, and mixed-signal)
  • Planning and overseeing development of Special Test Equipment (STE) and system-level test infrastructure
  • Analyzing and modeling EW/Radar system performance, including RF chain, signal processing, and end-to-end behavior
  • Knowledge of millimeter wave and microwave RF at the module and system levels
  • Integrating mixed signal modules into higher level assemblies, including interface and configuration management
  • Experience developing or interpreting security and cybersecurity requirements relevant to government systems
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes, including SysML, Cameo Enterprise Architecture and DOORs
  • Flight test or field test experience supporting system-level evaluation and data analysis

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
