Job Description


JBS Solutions is seeking a Ground Systems Controller.  This candidate will work in a control room environment to provide ground system support services for International Space Station (ISS) Ground Systems to include Operations Engineering support for ISS Payloads and other NASA programs. The Ground Systems Controller is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground system services required to support
Marshall Operations Systems, Services, and Integration II (MOSSI II) contract. Critical services include telemetry receipt, routing and archival, voice/video distribution, and configuration management systems.  Operations are conducted 365x24x7.  The individual selected must be willing and able to work all shifts (11 p.m. to 7 a.m., 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.). The individual selected will be expected to work weekends and holidays that fall during her/his scheduled work week.


Required Experience

  • Must have an Associate's degree or equivalent related experience (4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (US Citizenship is required)
  • Must have working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs required
  • The individual selected must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays (40 hours per week)
  • Must have excellent writing and speaking skills
  • The candidate will undergo a rigorous training certification program and must successfully complete certification to retain their position
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field preferred
  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Microsoft command line functions a plus
  • Previous experience working in a help desk call center, computer systems maintenance, plant operations, etc. preferred
  • An interest in NASA and the space program
