About the Position:

We are looking for a System validation Engineerย  to join the Electronics team, reporting directly to the System Engineering Manager.

This position is based at our office in Southfield.
ย 

As the System Validation Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....

Your Responsibilities will be:

1. Perform System Validation activities in compliance with Automotive-SPICE standard (SYS.5).
2. Set-up the test environment needed to execute System Validation test cases.
3. Review and verify Functional System Requirements from testability perspective.
4. Implement Functional System Validation test cases.
5. Ensure traceability from Functional System Requirements to the System Validation test cases.
6. Create manual, automatic and semi-automatic test cases in different test environments.
7. Review test conditions and test cases applying different types of review techniques: peer review, walkthrough review and inspection.
8. Execute System Validation test cases as defined in the test plan and test strategy.
9. Analyze test results and defects and document them accordingly to the defined procedures.
10. Generate System Validation test report.
11. Open System Validation defects, track their progress, guarantee that the proper test environment is used to verify the behaviour (including labs) and closely collaborate with software, system and hardware teams for closure.
12. Perform regression testing and confirmation testing (a.k.a. re-testing).
13. Apply and contribute to the creation of procedures and documentation for System Validation activities.
14. Define the test environment and the needed instrumentation used to perform System Validation activities for new projects.
15. Improve the existent test framework by providing solutions to increase the quality and time efficiency.
16, Analyze and discuss issues with the cusomer during WAR Room Meetings

17. Support DV/PV test activities through on demand raw data recording, realtime monitoring tools troubleshooting and support to Test Reports redaction.
18. Provide DV/PV DUTs monitoring tools troubleshooting support to Test Laboratories.
19. Support Electrical and Environmental Engineer in following-up from Test Method and Tools team realtime updated equipment needs timeline for HW and Environmental tests ย (e.g. test boxes, monitoring SW,...).

20. Support the System Validation reference person in determining the impact of change requests and in estimating the effort to cover the change request.
21. Collaborate with system, software and hardware domains to consolidate technical information used to develop test cases.
22. Monitor and report the progress of System Validation activities to the System Validation reference person and/ or to the Product Validation Leader.

What Qualifications you will bring:
  1. Electronic Engineering Degree, Information Science Degree or equivalent background
  2. English (recommended): written and spoken independent use (B2 level)
  3. 5 or more years of experience in verification, validation, system testing, or a related engineering role
  4. Strong programming skills with hands-on experience in developing automation scripts and test frameworks

The Functional Validation Engineer is responsible for testing the Functional System Requirements and to ensure that the integrated system is tested to provide evidence for compliance with the functional system requirements and that the system is ready for delivery.
