Job description

Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group, has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our organization as a Fire Alarm System Project Manager. Selected candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of all Fire Alarm System projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
  • Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
  • Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project.
  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
  • Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Review's status reports and modifies schedules and plans as required.
  • Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
  • Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.
  • Manages project documentation and correspondence.
  • Manages the project's development and oversees all project activities, coordination, schedules, scope of work, installation, plans and specifications (if applicable), deadlines, and verification.
  • Generate customer billings and approve supplier invoices for assigned projects.
  • Follow safety standards to the highest degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Assist with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper coordination and cooperation for project completion.
  • Provide feedback, track, and make a note of field change information for the project.
  • Prepare monthly progress, financial, and other reports for assigned projects.
  • Forecast monthly project invoicing and related costs.
  • Prioritize, multitask, work well under pressure, work within a team atmosphere, and support other members of the team.
  • Perform all business activities with integrity and at the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications:
  • High level of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
  • Must be able to differentiate types and colors of electrical wire.
  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with safety, OSHA, ANSI, Federal Acquisition Regulation and other project-related rules and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent networking skills, business-minded, change orientated, and pro-active.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license with a safe driving record.

Education and/or Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or construction management from a four-year college or university.
  • 8-10 years of experience in project management and servicing fire safety equipment.
