Job description

In support of the U.S. Navy's PEO IWS-X initiative,the Systems Engineer (System Integration)is responsible fordesigning, developing, integrating, andoptimizingcomplex IT systems to enhance operational performance and reliability. This role evaluates technologies, implements system strategies, and ensures that infrastructure and missioncritical systemsremainsecure, available, and fully optimized. The Systems Engineer works across crossfunctional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet technical requirements and support organizationalobjectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement system strategies to enhance the performance, security, and availability of infrastructure and IT systems.

  • Evaluate technologies, tools, and products todeterminesuitability and alignment with organizational requirements.

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex IT systems to support operational needs and missionobjectives.

  • Execute system integration activities, including configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of solutions.

  • Ensure systems aremaintainedatoptimallevels through continuous monitoring, tuning, and performance analysis.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working with technical teams toidentifyroot causes and implement solutions.

  • Maintain documentation for system design, integration procedures, configurations, and operational processes.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Support lifecycle management of infrastructure and systems, including upgrades, modernization, and technology transitions.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearancerequired

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 3-7 years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, or infrastructure engineering.

  • Handson experience designing and integrating complex IT systems.

  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, storage, and enterprise infrastructure.

  • Experience with systems analysis, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with DoD, federal, or other regulated environments preferred.

  • Proficiencywith system monitoring, configuration management, and integration tools.

  • Strong communicationand documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, or related technical credentials.

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GovCloud).

  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, scripting, or automation tools.

  • Experience supporting IT modernization or largescale system integration projects.
