Job Description:
Network Engineers work with customers on implementation and upgrades of their network infrastructure as well as respond to issues related to the customer network. They plan for and evaluate new and existing network systems and services between multiple platforms and protocols. This includes but is not limited to routers, circuits, internet, switches, firewalls, ISP, cabling, VPN connections, unified communications, call-center management, etc. Network Engineers that obtain work from a task system are primarily customer facing. Their work includes device migrations, network infrastructure, installations, and coordinating with QA and/or Risk Management to ensure configuration integrity and compliance.
  • Demonstrates a proficient knowledge while learning a variety of technologies.
  • May perform planning, site/datacenter surveys, and providing recommendations for future proofing customer infrastructures by providing data to customers, internal or external, with actionable data regarding specific customers' infrastructure needs. This data might be rendered by either conference call, data (i.e., e-mail) or physical on-site inspection.
  • May work on project implementations; conducts project planning, vendor comparisons, and project management.
  • Responds promptly to trouble tickets/tasks concerning network/voice issues.
  • Works to maintain the security and proper access to customer data.
  • Stays abreast of developing trends in Information Technology

Professional level position in described technology. Two (2) to four (4) years of successful, hands-on work experience in relevant fields. Accredited university, college or trade school education in relevant field or equivalent training in relevant technology.
