Position: System Administrator Level 2
Location: Hanover, MD

Schedule: Standard Day Shift, Monday–Friday
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (required)
Experience Requirement: Mid-Senior Level (10+ years)
Compensation Range: $100,000 – $120,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise IT systems in a mission-focused environment. This role involves managing infrastructure across servers, storage, networking, and end-user systems while ensuring high system availability and performance.
The System Administrator will provide both Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, troubleshoot complex system issues, and work closely with internal teams to maintain reliable and secure IT operations. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
  • Manage day-to-day system operations, including monitoring, performance tuning, and issue resolution
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (escalation) support for system and hardware issues
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across client, server, storage, and network devices
  • Assist users with accessing and utilizing IT systems
  • Configure and manage UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating system software and system components
  • Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization
  • Perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Support escalation processes and communicate system status to stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate resolution efforts
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback on escalated issues

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
    • OR equivalent relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience supporting IT systems and infrastructure
  • Experience administering Windows and/or UNIX/Linux operating systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems
  • Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support in an enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and distributed systems
  • Experience with system automation or scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience working in secure or mission-critical environments
