Job description

As a Dentist for Swope Health Service, you will be a part of a team of caregivers that help the patients in our community that need it the most. The Dentist will diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of related oral structures. The Dentist supervises dental procedures done by staff. If you have a passion for improving the quality of life for others, This is the role for you.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Examines patients to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors, explores and other diagnostic procedures and instruments.
  • Consider treatment plans and methods, and explains the options with patients to determine which works best for them.
  • Clean, fills, extracts and replaces teeth, using rotary and hard instruments, dental appliances, medication and surgical instruments.
  • Supervises the operation, processing and development of radiological equipment and film, supervises dental procedures performed by the Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistants.
  • Educates patients and families and oral healthcare.
  • Assist in structuring and implementing continuous on-the- job training for personnel assisting the Dentist.

Successful Candidate will have:
  • Graduation from an accredited dental school.
  • State licensure to practice dentistry in Missouri.
  • Experience in a clinical setting is desired.
  • Thorough knowledge of current methods practices and procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries and malformation.
