Position Summary
ITT Micro-Mode is seeking a Swiss Screw Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team in El Cajon, CA. This role is responsible for operating Citizen K16 Swiss-style CNC machines to produce small, high-precision components for business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with Swiss-type lathes, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure consistent part quality and production efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate Citizen K16 Swiss-style CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
  • Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and specifications.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators) and document results.
  • Follow setup instructions, work orders, and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and offsets as needed to maintain part quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and 5S standards.
  • Communicate with setup personnel, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of CNC machining experience, with at least 1-2 years operating Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Experience with Citizen K16 machines strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with CNC controls and machine interface operations.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
