Job description

Duties: Supervise multiple farm sites totaling over 50,000 head and related personnel including day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met, and supervising farm employees. Plan, direct, and coordinate day to day farm activities and staff to ensure all daily and weekly production targets are met. Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods, providing constructive and timely feedback, and offering opportunities for individual growth. Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm. Ensure health and safety of employees and animals at the facility, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals. Manage all controllable cost, including supplies, labor, medication, etc. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment, it is a requirement that all personnel must shower into the facility at the beginning of the day and shower out at the end of the day. Additionally, depending on the tasks and movement within the facility, you may need to shower multiple times a day. Supervises 7 employees. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements: Two years of related swine experience. Experience must include at least one year of management duties in a swine farm, and experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must have experience training employees on day-to-day processes and developing a competent workforce. Experience ensuring required biosecurity protocols are followed. Experience required maintaining animal welfare and the environment. Must have experience performing audits to ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Experience required maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies. Must have experience creating and managing employee work schedules and conducting permanence evaluations. Must have experience submitting orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs. Must have experience writing routine reports and correspondence. Must have experience managing animal caretakers. Must have good communication skills in English. Daily travel required to local farms.
