Head Swim CoachLead. Inspire. Make a Splash.Bethesda Country Club (BCC) is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Head Swim Coach to lead and grow our swim program. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate swim professional who loves working with athletes, developing young swimmers, and creating a positive, competitive, and team-oriented environment.The Head Swim Coach will oversee the full BCC swim program-from learn-to-swim instruction through our summer competitive swim team-and will play a key role in developing swimmers of all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader and strong communicator who can motivate swimmers to "be the best they can be" while fostering a fun, inclusive, and successful team culture.An interest in and availability for swim instruction beyond the summer season is a plus.What You'll DoLead & Develop the Swim ProgramOversee the day-to-day management and success of the BCC swim program.Develop and manage swim team schedules and lead regular, engaging practices.Attend and actively lead all practices and swim meets.Uphold and champion the philosophy, goals, and values of the BCC swim program.Motivate swimmers to grow their skills, confidence, sportsmanship, and love of swimming.Maintain accurate records for each swimmer and oversee the Swim Team Record Board.Prepare meet entries, heat sheets, awards, and other materials in a timely and organized manner.Post entries and results for all home meets to CCSDA.Build & Lead a Great TeamHire, schedule, train, supervise, and, when necessary, provide disciplinary direction for swim team employees in partnership with Club management.Create a collaborative and high-performing coaching environment.Serve as a subject matter expert for the Aquatics Director on swim operations, policies, equipment, and related matters.Participate in opening swim team meetings and required team events.Create Outstanding Meet & Team ExperiencesOrganize and coordinate swim meets with visiting teams, BCC staff, coaches, swimmers, and families.Foster strong, consistent communication among coaches, swimmers, parents, and the Pool Committee.Ensure the swim team is prepared, organized, and ready to perform at its best throughout the season.Present swim awards and celebrate swimmer accomplishments.Champion Safety & ExcellenceEnsure all swim team equipment is properly maintained, organized, and accounted for.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pool environment, including the Coach's Office and storage areas.Oversee the setup and breakdown of the pool for practices and meets.Immediately suspend swim team programs and/or diving operations when conditions are deemed unsafe or out of compliance with BCC policies and practices.Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and program operations.Follow all applicable CCSDA bylaws and BCC bylaws, rules, and customs.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a confident, energetic leader who brings both technical swimming expertise and a genuine passion for developing athletes.Minimum qualifications include:Relevant experience directly related to competitive swimming, coaching, or swim program management.Current Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications.Strong knowledge of competitive swimming, including stroke technique, starts, finishes, and rules governing legal competition.Experience as a competitive swimmer.Strong knowledge of swim operations and program management.Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate swimmers and staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with swimmers, parents, staff, and Club leadership.Ability to maintain high standards for safety, quality, organization, and compliance.Why BCC?This is more than a coaching position-it's an opportunity to shape a swim program, develop young athletes, build lasting team culture, and make a meaningful impact on the BCC community.If you're a passionate swim professional who is ready to lead from the pool deck, inspire the next generation of swimmers, and bring energy and excellence to a thriving club program, we'd love to hear from you.
