Job description

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Water Resources Leader to join the RS&H Infrastructure team in Tampa, Florida.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Water Resources engineers that support the successful delivery of high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects in Southwest Florida.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides leadership and oversight to a team of professionals with a shared focus on ensuring client satisfaction and quality outcomes.
  • Leads the development of a water resources discipline team by recruiting new talent and capabilities to the firm.
  • Creates an engaging and empowering work environment for the team, including communicating clear expectations and providing effective performance feedback through regular meetings, recognition, rewards, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Oversees and leads the delivery of multiple, high-profile projects that are critical to expanding client relationships and growing our portfolio. Provides subject matter expertise throughout the project.
  • Drives operation excellence, including profitability, operational efficiency, resource management, and quality deliverables.
  • Leads client relationship development activities while working closely with client managers and business development teams to drive top line sales growth.
  • Leads the development and execution of win strategies for high-profile core business and critical pursuits while working in collaboration with the business development and marketing team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active, good-standing Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive water resources engineering design experience
  • Experience leading and designing stormwater management for transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in providing technical guidance to staff. This includes reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineering staff.
  • Proven experience with business development including client relationship development, proposal writing, and presentations.
  • Proven track record of leadership, with a strong understanding of effective management practices.
  • Must possess demonstrated project and budget management skills, and strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental engineering business principles.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, process improvement, and oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively engage and empower teams, and interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Possesses a professional demeanor and adheres to ethical standards.
  • Leads by example and provides clear guidance and expectations for team.
  • Must be capable of marketing services to existing and new clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microstation Open Roads Designer
  • Demonstrated proficiency with drainage design software including ICPR, HY-8, and HEC (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience working with FDOT District 1, District 7, SFWMD, SWFWMD, and local municipalities.
