Sweeper Cleaner - 5.75 Hours

Austintown Local Schools Austintown Middle School - Youngstown, Ohio

Job Description

OAPSE transfer bid requests via internal applications will be accepted online until 12:00 pm on 7/31/2026. External applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Position available due to the transfer of Thomas Zetts Contract Hours: 5.75 hours per day; 9-month contract (school calendar plus 5 days) Report Time: Flex 1:15 pm to 7:00 pm Salary and Benefits: $14.19 starting rate with annual step increases; monthly accumulated paid sick leave, and three (3) paid personal days per school year Reports to: Director of Operations Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred
  • Physically capable of performing all job duties that may include but are not limited to lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, and moving of heavy objects

General Duties and Responsibilities: (see administrator for complete details of the assignment)

  • Performs general cleaning of assigned areas
  • Reports unsafe conditions and/or maintenance problems to the Director of Operations, custodian on duty and/or the building administrator
  • Identifies and reports unauthorized persons in the building to the custodian on duty and/or the building administrator
  • Performs all related tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations, Principals, and/or designee

Requirements: (Documents must be on file before starting)

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
  3. Enrolled in Rapback system through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
  4. Negative drug screen

Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The successful candidate must complete all required compliance courses as assigned.
