Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona.

Shift: 12hr days, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, holidays based on unit coverage

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description:

The role involves providing specialized care on a Neuro Telemetry unit, managing trached patients, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psych issues, and brain tumors. RNs are expected to maintain and interpret EKGs and titrate medications including Amio, Cardizem, and Insulin drips. The unit is fast-paced with a high turnaround of patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret EKG and provide telemetry monitoring
  • Titrate medication drips
  • Provide care to patients with neurological and complex medical conditions
  • Coordinate with SWAT RN for difficult IV sticks
  • Float to related units as needed
  • Complete patient documentation using Cerner

Requirements:

  • Must have Level 1 Trauma experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar setting
  • Proficiency in sterile techniques is critical
  • Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance
  • Completion of SIMs Lab tasks: Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes
  • Ability to float to telemetry and overflow units
