Over 45 years, Related has built, rehabilitated, and managed over 110,000 units, earning its place as one of the most prolific names in real estate. Led by the Pérez family and a team of the industry's top veterans, Related continues to push the industry bar higher, delivering innovative residential communities that positively transform cities, forge new trails and improve quality of life across all demographics.
Job Description:
Position Summary
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Construction leads field oversight of the Condominium Division's active luxury multi-family construction portfolio, currently comprising approximately 10 projects across South Florida. This is a hands-on, on-site role: the SVP is expected to be physically present at job sites on a regular basis, walking active construction to proactively identify issues before they affect schedule or budget. The SVP works closely with developer teams, general contractors, and trade partners to keep projects on schedule and on budget, while partnering with the COO, Condo President, and EVP of Construction to report progress and resolve escalations. The role also supports select projects in preconstruction.
Key Responsibilities
Support projects in the preconstruction phase, assisting with planning and readiness ahead of groundbreaking. Oversee all active luxury multifamily/condominium construction projects (approximately 10 sites across South Florida), maintaining a regular, hands-on presence through proactive site walks, progress monitoring, and coordination with developers, general contractors, consultants, and field teams to resolve issues, maintain schedules, and achieve project milestones in support of the organization's triple-bottom-line goals (financial, social, and environmental). Oversee the construction budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and cost control measures, ensuring projects remain financially viable and meet profitability targets. Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of luxury living spaces that exceed client and market expectations. Identify and mitigate project and operational risks - including compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety requirements, as well as risks to site access, schedule, and asset condition - and resolve conflicts among construction, maintenance, permitted work, and special events before they impact schedules or customers. Plan, organize, and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining firm schedules and deadlines. Maintain working knowledge of the inspection and title processes as they relate to project close-out and unit delivery. Prepare and present reports and executive-level recommendations to the COO, Condo President, and EVP of Construction, summarizing progress, financial performance, and escalations, and partnering with them on strategic decisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in construction management, with a track record overseeing multiple concurrent luxury multi-family or condominium projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction budgets, cost estimation, and cost control
  • Working knowledge of the inspection process and title process as they apply to residential/condominium construction
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting, and regulatory compliance in Florida
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active job sites simultaneously across a multi-county region
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to be on-site regularly, walking active construction sites across South Florida
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior executives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a senior or executive-level construction leadership role within a luxury residential or condominium developer
  • Experience supporting projects through the preconstruction phase
  • Established relationships with South Florida general contractors, trade partners, and inspection/title professionals

Work Environment
This is a field-based, on-site role requiring regular travel between active construction sites in South Florida. The SVP should expect to spend significant time walking active job sites in varying outdoor conditions, in addition to office-based reporting and coordination work.
