Job description

Summary of Position

Lionsgate is seeking a Director, SVOD/AVOD Licensing to report to the SVP, International TV & Digital Distribution. This role will be responsible for leading global licensing efforts across Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) and Ad-Supported Video on Demand (AVOD) platforms, driving revenue growth and maximizing the value of Lionsgate's content library and current programming. The Director will play a key role in structuring and negotiating complex licensing deals, managing strategic partner relationships, and collaborating cross-functionally to execute distribution strategies across international markets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end licensing strategy and deal execution for SVOD and AVOD partners globally, including pitching, negotiation, and closing of high-value agreements
  • Manage and grow relationships with key global streaming platforms, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Identify new business opportunities and emerging platforms to expand Lionsgate's digital distribution footprint
  • Partner with Sales Planning & Strategy to evaluate content availability, windowing, and pricing strategies to optimize revenue across platforms
  • Negotiate complex licensing agreements in collaboration with Legal, including rights, exclusivity, holdbacks, and financial terms
  • Oversee title selection process with partners, ensuring alignment with platform needs and Lionsgate's strategic priorities
  • Track and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and platform performance to inform deal strategy and positioning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including Sales Planning, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Content Strategy teams to ensure seamless execution of deals and partner deliverables
  • Monitor performance of licensed content across SVOD/AVOD platforms, including placement, promotion, and audience engagement
  • Provide regular insights to senior leadership on deal pipeline, title performance, and market trends
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing direction on deal processes, partner management, and strategic initiatives
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and ingenuity within the Global SVOD/AVOD team and the wider WWTV group
Qualifications and Skills
  • 6-10+ years of experience in TV distribution, digital licensing, streaming, or related media industry roles
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex SVOD and/or AVOD licensing deals, preferably on a global scale
  • Strong relationships with major streaming platforms and digital partners
  • Deep understanding of the global digital distribution landscape, including business models, windowing strategies, and content valuation
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority deals and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Highly confident presentation and sales skills, with proven capability in managing both client and internal relationships.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance strategic thinking with executional excellence
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with rights management systems and data analytics tools preferred
  • Dynamic self-starter, collaborative team player, and proactive problem solver
  • Passion for film and television, with strong knowledge of industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
