Your Opportunity
You will work on tasks under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer. This is an junior-level Interior Design Coordinator role with minimum 2 years of experience. You will support the interior design team and work collaboratively with the architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications, FFE and signage.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Supports interior design teams in the development of design documentation
  • Participates in the development of interior design in accordance with cost parameters and ensures interior design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
  • Develops the interior design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats to express the design intent and coordinate with Project Designer.
  • Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of interiors and their components.
  • Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.
  • Assists in the validation that design complies with building codes, ADA guidelines and LEED per project type and requirements.
  • Assists in the selections of interior systems and materials, finishes and fixtures.
  • Participates in the completion of FFE scope tasks from design and selection through bid, coordinating with specific client standards and project needs.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the profession and the firm by participating in and volunteering with a professional organization and working towards commercial interior design certification and/or licensure.
  • Performs Construction Administration tasks to support the scope of work.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Basic knowledge and application of accessibility codes and applicable building codes.
  • Basic understanding of all phases of architectural construction document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building program.
  • Ability to develop floor plans, elevations, and details.
  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of document production
  • Ability to engage in creative and critical thought. To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material. To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Abobe Creative Suite; Prefer experience with Enscape, AI, SketchUP, Newforma, Bluebeam.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred

Hybrid office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Field work may include exposure to active construction sites.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
