Job description

This position will be primarily responsible for the general financial and operational accounting functions, including customer invoicing, month-end close, financial reporting, and supporting the financial forecasting function. The successful candidate will be a vital member of a growing team, assisting with the decarbonization of aviation through comprehensive sustainability solutions. The candidate will have a role in all pillars of sustainability including carbon offsets, sustainable aviation fuel, in addition to supporting the financial reporting function, such as month-end duties, financial forecasting, and analysis.
Location:
Hybrid � Office space available in Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, and Plymouth, MA.
Essential Functions:
1. Manage 4AIR's customer base across various products & services, including preparation of customer invoices and coordinating with 4AIR's Program Managers to support client needs.
2. Assist with month-end close, including completing monthly operational journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and manage accounting for expense reports.
3. Assist with inventory procurement, management, and inventory allocation to clients across different inventory types.
4. Ability to effectively adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities, in a sometimes ambiguous and evolving area of scope.
5. Support new company initiatives, including new ERP system evaluation & implementation and expansion into new geographies.
6. Creates new tools and processes to improve company private and public resources.
7. Becomes a subject matter expert on carbon accounting within aviation.
8. Provides oversight on vendor and customer management.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Competencies
� Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, customers, external contacts, and other departments. Ability to professionally represent the company at industry events.
� Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application, accounting and budgeting principals necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, develop and build financial-based models.
� Ability to accept feedback and work collaboratively as part of a team to develop and apply skills in a unique setting.
� Thoughtful application of inventory management, recordkeeping and documentation principles.
� Ability to meet deadlines, must be comfortable prioritizing tasks, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, fanatical attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
� Proven ability to identify problems based on quantitative figures then solve those problems.
� Create and analyze complex accounting models utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
Minimum Qualifications:
� Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
� Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
� Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
� Successful candidate should be highly motivated, self-directed, proactive, and able to work effectively under time constraints with a positive attitude.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
� Working knowledge of business aviation industry, products, and services.
� Working knowledge of sustainability industry, including carbon offsets, sustainable fuels, and new technology.
� Background in public accounting.
� Has obtained or started towards a pilot's license.
